The inaugural Rose Creek Fest in San Diego’s Mission Bay Park will take place Saturday, Feb. 9 to give visitors a new appreciation of local wildlife and conservation.
The event, slated to take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Campland on the Bay on Pacific Beach Drive, is hosted by San Diego EarthWorks (producers of the San Diego Earth Day Fair), Friends of Rose Creek and Campland on the Bay.

After languishing on the market for the last two years, the old Union 76 gas station property at Ingraham Street and La Playa Avenue in Crown Point is under development. Rising from the site is The Point at Ingraham, a high-end, urban-design, mixed-use project.

A portion of Mission Beach’s crumbling historic seawall and boardwalk will receive a desperately needed facelift to restore the deteriorated and patchwork concrete to its glory days of 88 years ago. Thanks to a $700,000 state grant secured through a collaborative effort by city and state legislators, nearly 900 feet of the concrete wall and boardwalk adjacent to the iconic Belmont Park will be completely rebuilt late this year.

It’s that time of year again. The summer sun sets just a bit earlier each day, students of all ages are stocking up on school supplies and parents are finally getting a bit of relief that the kids will soon be out of the house for the day.
Ready for it or not, school goes back in session Sept. 4.

Following a split 7-7 vote, the Pacific Beach Planning Group (PBPG) decided July 25 to table a motion to support a site location request for a proposed lifeguard station at Law Street until further information about the project is vetted by board members and residents.
The project proposal entails construction of a full lifeguard station just south of Law Street in North Pacific Beach for use by San Diego lifeguards for vehicle and equipment storage, observation, first-aid response and public showers, bathrooms and changing rooms.
