The North County Transit District is expected to approve a plan Thursday that will outsource its almost 325 bus workers, according to the North County Times. The outsourcing plan includes 240 drivers and 85 mechanics and maintenance workers. The positions will be shifted to Ohio-based transit operator First Transit. The company will receive a seven-year, $178 million contract. The move is expected to save the district $10 million annually.
