California is facing a $21 billion budget gap over the next year and a half, according to a report issued by the legislative budget analyst, reported KPBS. The analyst pins blame on the deep recession and poor decision by state lawmakers over the past year. The current fiscal year already has a $6.3 billion hole, while next fiscal year starting July 1 will have a $14.4 billion shortfall. The analyst also warned that the state could face $20 billion deficits every year until 2015 unless lawmakers reprioritize spending and add revenue.
