Nuclear winter just hit the United Nations and its global warming (GW) advocacy groups, as a public relations atomic bomb has dropped on the GW community.  An unnamed source “hacked” the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in England, the cornerstone research facility for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.  The researchers at the University have already admitted to the Associated Press that the e-mails are authentic.

What has been discovered in these e-mails is tantamount to scientific heresy, including admitted manipulation and omission of key data, exploitation of the public and the media employing political strategies.

A fraction of the damning emails:

"The fact is that we can't account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty we can't."

"Can you delete any e-mails you may have had with Keith re AR4?"  AR4 is the IPCC 4^th Assessment Report.

"I can't see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Kevin and I will keep them out somehow -- even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!"

"I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (i.e. from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith's to hide the decline."

"I'm getting hassled by a couple of people to release the CRU temperature station data. Don't any of you three tell anybody that the UK has a Freedom of Information Act!"

To date, the State Media (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and the NY Times) have ignored these emails.  The GW activists are employing a strategy of diversion by pointing at the criminality of the hacking, but are unwilling to acknowledge the criminality of the data manipulations and the central strategy to mislead the world.

GW scientists intentionally ignored the climactic high in the middle of the last millennium – which was a full one degree warmer than the 1998 peak.  They willfully manipulated the data from the measuring stations.  They will not release the data from 1998 – present, wherein the planet has been experiencing a cooling trend, prompting some scientists to inanely speculate that we are headed into another ice-age.

In addition, scientists Stephen McIntyre and Ross McKitrick uncovered a fundamental mathematical flaw in the computer program used to produce the now infamous hockey stick temperature graph introduced by scientist Michael Mann to validate his GW theories.  McIntyre and McKitrick have proven that Mann’s interpolative software contains serious “bugs” and intentionally ignores key data baselines and trends.  Mann’s data normalization techniques are scientifically unsound and produced a graph that has an architecture based upon deficient mathematics.

As a result, a few noteworthy GW alarmists are justifiably calling for the resignation of the Climate Research Unit director.  They acknowledge these stunning revelations as extremely damaging to their cause.  And that is precisely what GW has been relegated too – an orthodoxical cause – based largely on scientific hooey.  Hooey is not a word in my daily lexicon, but seems to fit best here.

Most GW zealots, however, continue the battle by throwing personal attack labels such as “flat-earthers” at those of us calling for more data and more debate.  They and the State Media continue to attempt to justify the malfeasance of the scientists within the IPCC.

They ignore the fact that these IPCC scientists have become personally wealthy, continue to be endowed with enormous grants and have attained global celebrity status with their own sense of self-aggrandizement.

They specifically disregard the fact that Al Gore stands to increase his net worth from $3 million just 10 years ago, to over $100 million in the next decade as he is set to become the first carbon billionaire.  They can’t be bothered with the fact that he uses 20 times more energy in his home than the average American.  They give him a pass that he refuses to stop eating meat, even though the IPCC has named cattle as the largest single CO2 offenders on the planet.  They love his jet-setting all over the world spewing apocalyptic predictions – while his jets produces more CO2 on one flight than the average American churns out in one year.

There is also the kneejerk absurdity called “inertia” which has been making the rounds in GW blogs.  They claim the cooling is only temporary, but planetary weather will resume its cataclysmic heating cycle once inertia kicks-in.  By these utterly ignorant claims, the planet should have never overcome the ice ages.  Inertia and momentum are topics best left to the physicist in the world.

Even though the emails call into question the GW science and their arbiters, we should take care of our home and work to reduce emissions.  We further need to eliminate our dependence on foreign oil; a topic of commonality most agree upon.

A public relations nuclear bomb has been dropped on the GW frontier, and the State Media has yet to acknowledge it.  The public will not deliberately ignore incontrovertible evidence that the IPCC scientists continue to deceive us.  The emails have exposed the utter fraud of the science behind the entire anthropogenic GW debate.  Whether you believe in GW or not, this explosion will have repercussions for generations and will make selling the idea of man-made global warming to fair-minded individuals nearly impossible.
